Just recently, President Obama issued a statement saying that, "We do no expect harmful levels of radiation to reach the United States, whether it’s the West Coast, Hawaii, Alaska, or US territories in the Pacific." But scientists have now discovered radioactive iodine in a rainwater sample taken near San Francisco which is 18,100 times higher than the federal drinking water standard. See here.
How dangerous is radioactive iodine? See here. And how can President Obama assert that harmful levels of radiation will not reach the United States when we read this?
